Terms of use.

These terms explain what Industry Landscapes is for, the limits of the guidance it provides, and what using the quote form does and doesn't commit you to.

What this site provides

Industry Landscapes provides independent planning information, cost guidance and calculators for landscaping and outdoor living projects in New Zealand, along with a form for requesting quotes from local landscaping professionals. Content on this site is general guidance intended to help you plan and scope a project.

It is not professional, structural, engineering, legal or financial advice, and it should not be treated as a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified person about your specific property. Where a page recommends checking something with a council or a professional, that recommendation is part of using the site correctly, not an optional aside.

Cost estimates are indicative

Any cost figures, ranges or calculator outputs on this site are indicative planning estimates built around stated assumptions. They are not quotes, and they are not a guarantee of what your project will cost. Actual pricing depends on factors specific to your site and your chosen contractor — access, ground conditions, material choice, current market pricing and more — and should always be confirmed through an actual quote before you commit to spending.

Using the quote form doesn't create a contract

Submitting a request through the quote form does not create a contract, agreement or obligation between you and Industry Landscapes, and it does not commit you to proceeding with any project. Any contract for landscaping work is between you and whichever contractor or professional you choose to engage, on whatever terms you agree directly with them.

Industry Landscapes is not a party to that agreement, does not supervise or guarantee the work carried out under it, and is not responsible for the pricing, conduct, quality or outcomes of any contractor you engage — whether or not you found them through this site.

You're responsible for verifying site-specific requirements

Building consent thresholds, engineering requirements, boundary rules, drainage obligations and similar requirements vary by property and by council, and they change over time. Before proceeding with any project, you're responsible for verifying these requirements with the relevant council and with suitably qualified professionals — a structural or geotechnical engineer, a licensed building practitioner, a surveyor, or similar — rather than relying solely on general content published on this site.

In short

  • This site provides general planning guidance and tools, not professional advice for your specific property.
  • Cost figures are indicative estimates, not quotes or guarantees.
  • Requesting a quote through this site creates no contract with Industry Landscapes.
  • Any project you proceed with is a direct agreement between you and your chosen contractor.
  • Always verify site-specific requirements with your council and a qualified professional before committing to work.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time as the site changes. Continued use of Industry Landscapes after an update means you accept the current version of these terms — we'd encourage checking back periodically if you use the site regularly.
